Florida RV SuperShow 2027: Make Every Walkthrough Count

A practical Tampa show plan: public dates, ticket details, a floorplan comparison method, and a campground option to check before booking.

The most useful thing to bring to an RV show is a clear picture of the trips you actually want to take. A beautiful kitchen or an enormous lounge can pull your attention away from the details that determine whether a vehicle works on an ordinary travel day. Use the Tampa show as a place to ask better questions, compare similar layouts, and make a shortlist you can explain after the excitement wears off.

The confirmed public dates

The 2027 Florida RV SuperShow opens to the public January 13–17 at the Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 US Highway 301 North, Tampa. Published hours are 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Sunday, local time. January 12 is an industry day with credentials required. Adult admission is listed at $15 for a two-day pass, with children under 16 free. Gate sales are available; presale is expected in mid-December. Confirm changes on the official FRVTA show page before setting out.

Build a comparison that survives the show

Start a note on your phone with five questions: who sleeps here, where everyone sits during a rainy evening, how meals get prepared, what equipment must fit inside, and where the rig will be stored between trips. Add your nonnegotiable dimensions and the features you can comfortably do without. Bring measurements for your driveway or storage space, along with photographs of the equipment you intend to carry. That turns a vague conversation about storage into a specific discussion about bikes, folding chairs, or work gear.

Tour the first vehicle slowly enough to establish your method. Photograph its model designation before taking interior pictures, then record the floorplan and any displayed specification sheet. In the next rig, follow the same sequence. Without that discipline, photographs of three different dinettes can become surprisingly difficult to match with the right model when you get home.

Ask permission to try ordinary tasks. Sit at the table with your travel partner, stand at the kitchen counter, and consider where shoes and wet jackets would go. Ask a representative to show what remains accessible with slide rooms retracted. Notice which storage doors are easy to reach and which require a movement you would rather avoid. These observations are personal fit checks, not an engineering inspection or a prediction of long-term reliability.

Separate the vehicle from the sales conversation

For any serious contender, request written details identifying the exact vehicle and its installed options. Ask for the total proposed purchase price and every additional charge, then keep financing, a trade allowance, and optional products clearly itemized. A low monthly payment does not tell you enough to compare two offers. Give yourself time to read the documents away from the display and decide which questions still need answers.

If a question concerns towing, carrying capacity, or equipment compatibility, record the exact numbers and documents the representative uses. Follow up using the relevant vehicle and component manufacturers before committing. The goal is to leave with evidence that can be checked, rather than a remembered assurance that something should be fine.

Plan the night as carefully as the day

On-site camping information for the 2027 show was still awaiting publication when this guide was checked. Do not treat a day-parking ticket as permission to stay overnight. For a regional campground option, Hillsborough River State Park documents RV camping, water, electric service on most sites, and a dump station. Its current park notice also identifies closures affecting some amenities and campsites. Check the particular site, current access, availability, and your driving route before reserving; this is a regional option, with no claim that it is the closest campground.

Leave room for a second look only at the rigs that genuinely fit your brief. A successful show day may end with no purchase and a much shorter list. Put your photographs, written quotes, unanswered questions, and reasons for rejecting alternatives in one folder while the details are fresh. That folder is the useful souvenir: a practical record of what you learned and what still needs verification.

For a broader Tampa Bay trip, our St. Petersburg / Madeira Beach KOA Holiday record provides an additional regional planning reference in St. Petersburg. Review the official operator information and your route before choosing it for a show visit; no commute time, campsite availability, or fit for a particular rig is established here.
