The most valuable result of a large RV show is a decision you can explain clearly afterward. That might mean finding a vehicle to investigate further, ruling out a layout you thought you wanted, or discovering that your present rig still suits your travels. Set a useful question before you set a shopping target. Hershey offers a place to compare alternatives, and a little preparation can make those comparisons much more meaningful.
The dates to put on your calendar
America’s Largest RV Show is scheduled for September 15–19, 2027, at Giant Center, 550 W. Hersheypark Drive, Hershey, Pennsylvania. The official show website lists Wednesday–Saturday hours of 9 a.m.–7 p.m. and Sunday hours of 9 a.m.–5 p.m., local time. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale in June. Prices were not yet confirmed for this guide. The organizer directs buyers to its own website and warns about third-party ticket sellers; use its current links when sales open.
Make a three-part shopping brief
Begin with the journeys, then the daily routine, then the practical constraints. Describe how often you travel, how long you tend to stay in one place, who comes along, and what you like doing once you arrive. Follow that with the work of living in the rig: meals, sleeping, dressing, rainy afternoons, and packing up. Finally, note the dimensions, storage arrangements, and other limits that apply to your situation.
Reduce the brief to a page you can share with your travel partner. Mark three requirements that would make a vehicle unsuitable if they were missing. Keep preferences in a separate section so a handsome finish does not quietly become more important than the sleeping arrangement you need. Leave blank space for discoveries; sometimes a show helps you realize that the original brief needs revision.
Compare like with like
Pick a small group of plausible layouts and examine them using the same routine. Identify the model before photographing it, note the displayed options, and record what you can actually observe. Sit where you would eat, consider how people pass through the main space, and ask a representative to demonstrate the storage or conversion you would use most often. Check whether the arrangement still works when traveling equipment is accounted for.
Give every contender a short assessment: why it fits, what it asks you to compromise, and what still needs checking. Avoid giving an overall score before you have written those three points. A number can hide a decisive problem, while a clear sentence about an inaccessible bed or an awkward work surface keeps the real issue visible.
Ask how maintenance and service are handled after delivery. Which party answers questions? Where does scheduled work happen? What documents explain the installed components? If representatives make a claim about capacity, towing compatibility, or operation, ask for the exact specifications and supporting material to review later. A show conversation is the beginning of that verification process.
Make room for the paperwork
If a vehicle remains a serious possibility, request an itemized written proposal identifying the exact unit and equipment. Read the price, deposits, conditions, timing, and optional products carefully. Compare proposals on the same basis. Keep your notes about the vehicle separate from the feeling created by the sales presentation so you can evaluate both without losing track of either.
Reserve the overnight stay separately
Hersheypark Camping Resort officially offers RV, tent, and cabin accommodations in the area. Check the particular site’s specifications, current rates, and availability directly. No show shuttle or special event package is assumed here; the resort’s advertised Hersheypark benefits should not be treated as transportation to the RV show. This is a documented local lodging option, with no nearest-campground ranking or availability promise.
Allow the final evening of your trip to be a review session instead of another hurried comparison. Put matching photographs and proposals together, identify questions that deserve a follow-up appointment, and remove choices that fail your three requirements. A smaller, better-supported shortlist is a stronger result than a folder filled with attractive interiors you can no longer identify.
For additional stops on a Pennsylvania trip, our Pennsylvania campground directory is a statewide starting point. It does not imply that its listed campgrounds are nearby show lodging. Compare each location with your itinerary and confirm current access, availability, and the selected site through the operator.
